Nakama,
We both know how this goes. When the cashier mumbles something about a package without meeting your eyes, it's a goodbye. It really doesn't get any easier, does it? We can tell ourselves that our friends are better off home with their other life, but inside -- well, you don't need me analysing that.
I'm not sorry. That would mean regretting meeting you and regretting the time we spent together here. It'd also be pretty cheap of me to question your strength when I have seen all you are capable of. You've said goodbye to good friends before, and still found the courage to seek out new ones. That's a gift. It'll keep you going, keep you inspiring others -- and that's really important because you've got good people here to keep an eye on. I can't tell you how many times you reminded me of a truth I'd overlooked or surprised me with your wisdom, or even surprised me with your kindness. That's how I know you'll be all right.
I'm leaving you my collection of Castle's mystery novels, not because I think you'll like them (although I think you'll find them a lot more straightforward than Agatha Christie's works) but because I think you know how much they mean to me, and that you'd appreciate them for that reason. I'm also leaving you Castle and Beckett. They are pretty easy to manage most of the time, but Beckett may need to be reminded to relax and not work so hard. Castle's usually the one to do that but sometimes they argue about silly things. Also, Castle while usually practical and capable can get distracted by how clever he is. You'll need to watch out for that. Don't let it become a habit.
I leave it up to you.
