Aladdin's a cute kid! He's cheerful, polite, wants to help and really doesn't seem to deserve in any way the aggression he's getting from Judal. Fortunately, Aladdin seems able to take it in stride, so Conan's trusting him to get on with things, while keeping an eye out for him.
Like Asgards other kids, Conan finds it relaxing to interact with Aladdin. He's one of the youngest people that Conan's interacted with in Asgard, so Conan's sympathetic and also wants to make sure he's okay.
Charles is intelligent, sensible, has a logical mind and is perceptive -- perhaps a little too perceptive. While a welcome addition to the Forensics Unit, Conan's keenly aware that Charles is suspicious and has reason to be suspicious. Running into him as Shinichi really didn't help any.
Fortunately, Charles doesn't seem willing to jeopardize their relationship by making his thoughts public, and Conan's experience working with him so far is that not only can he be trusted to act with discretion when it comes to Asgards' murders, but that his previous experience with powers will be very useful to their research into Asgard's magic. All Conan has to do is keep up the balancing act between precocious child genius and serious boss!
Like Edmund, Damien is someone that it's very comfortable for Conan to be around. Partly it's because he doesn't feel the need to be on guard as much as he would if he was hanging out with an older character. Part of it is that Damien is very mature himself. They're not friends yet, but Conan could easily go that way.
He's intrigued by what he's learned of Damien's world, both through him and through Yifei, though it's hard to imagine that two people so dissimilar could come from the same place. Conan wants to know more about their relationship and if Damien's got the same past experiences as Yifei, but he's not sure he can ask those questions yet.
Edmund-kun Edmund Pevensie The Chronicles of Narnia.
Edmund is someone Conan both likes and appreciates. He's kind of like a grown up Mitsuhiko, with an added air of something else that Conan isn't sure how to define. They became friends really quickly, united by their common interest in providing new arrivals with a clear account of Asgard as well as the simple fact that it's really relaxing for Conan to be around Edmund. This is probably due to the fact that they've got some significant things in common, not that they know this yet.
Edmund's siblings are something of a puzzle. Conan's not sure how to interpret them, or adult Edmund yet. He's also pretty sure that walking around with swords was not common in 1940s London so what is up with that? It is a mystery. Fortunately Conan likes mysteries.
Sasamori-neechan is just really likable! She's the kind of girl that Conan's used to hanging out with peripherally in high school -- he's familiar with her type and so she's easy and relaxing to be around. Their shared background of being Japanese high school students means that not only do they have certain cultural reference points in common, but it's easy to be Conan around her -- Conan knows what cues demand a childish response, and how to couche questions/requests in ways that she'll read as 'childish' (at least he thinks he does, I would love to hear Sasamori's thoughts on this).
He's amused at her group of friends, and wants to see them all together to see if they match his idea of how they interact. It's easy for him to forget that Sasamori had a power before Asgard because of just how 'normal' she seems to him. It's not a friendship he thinks about much because it comes so easily, and it's limited by the neechan/Conan-kun divide, but because that's so rare in Asgard, it's more valuable for it's reminder of home/relative normalcy.
Merlin is someone that Conan relies on a lot -- he's sensible and practical, maybe even wise, and that more than makes up for what he doesn't know about modern technology. Merlin's desire to help people and his earnestness is as impressive as it is inspiring -- Conan will continue to tell anyone who stays still long enough about the good things Merlin is doing and why they need to listen to him.
Merlin's discovery of Shinichi and his confiding in Conan his fears about Uther and his own secret has been both a huge relief to Conan, as he feels he can trust Merlin implicitly and that he's got someone in a similiar position identity-wise to lean on for support. Most importantly of all, he can drop the act around him! Merlin's yet to see the full force of Shinichi's charming personality, but he's got Conan's respect and loyalty, so hopefully that will reign in the arrogance some. Conan appreciates the warning about Uther, and sees Merlin as a friend and ally more than ever.
Nina is a shining beacon of normalcy so far in Asgard. She is kind, the sort of person you can trust to do the responsible adult thing, and Conan's appreciative both of her calm when they discussed body control and her care and concern when she encountered kid!Shinichi (although he is pretending not to remember this). He feels bad about his younger self's blatant opportunism re: ice-cream, and feels he owes Nina one -- a feeling only added to by the party she threw Rapunzel and Nakama. It meant so much to both of his friends that Conan is impressed, not only that Nina pulled it off, but that she knew. He has a lot of respect for Nina -- and a lot of fondness too. She's kind of a grown-up Ran, without the absolutely terrifying karate (as far as Conan knows anyway).
