asgard eventide | Forensic Unit Morning Meetings!

I think that while the Forensic Unit is pretty relaxed in terms of what people actually do, and there's no pressure to stay in the office, Conan likes having everyone there in the morning for a quick meeting (anything from 10 minutes to half an hour) for everyone to be brought up to date on any developments and give their plans for the day/progress before they head off and get to work.

OOCly, there's been a couple of changes in staff and IC absences and I can't think of a better way to keep you guys up to date then by making regular comments here. I recommend everyone tracks this post, and we use it to share info that would come out at the meetings. I'm going to make an example comment now so please take a look and let me know if you think it'd be useful!

Day 99/100

-Apollo has left Asgard. His partner in investigations, Trucy, has volunteered to take his place so that the department isn't short. Everyone, be nice to her!
-Loewe-kun isn't feeling well, and is taking leave to rest and recover.

Evening Day 99 / Day 100 -- UPDATE!

We got two dead bodies washing up in the floods, both discovered the evening of the 99th by L and Bobby and Detective Beckett.

Beckett says, "She would have sent Conan all the information about the body, yes. Pictures, her findings, etc. she probably would have also called in some help as far as searching the crime scene. So any of the FU that would be awake and would answer their bracelets are probably up for getting a late-night call from Beckett."

L and Conan have an on-going inbox thread, but I'm going to say that Conan would also be calling people to see who is awake and can come to the scene. If your character didn't make it, they'd be filled in at the morning meeting Day 100.

We can bug Beckett at her hiatus post here and there's more detail in the comments of the original planning post.

Day 101 | 102]

Day 101 -- Detective Beckett doesn't show up! She hasn't checked in to say she'll be late, and attempts to contact her via the bracelet fail. She's gone grey and will be missing one IC week.

Day 102 - This time Conan and Loewe are vanishing. They're on the Gods' camping trip and will be gone two IC days.

Haagen will be taking over while Conan's gone. Please let me know if you have any questions etc!

Would Castle like to be roped into the department in Beckett's absence?
I can imagine him turning up to find out why they haven't found her yet, and then when two more department members disappear, decide that this is a trend he needs to monitor.

Day 104

Loewe and Conan are back, rather worse for wear.

Conan will be spending at least a day, maybe two in the hospital -- he's going to try and get a room on the same floor as the lab. Whether he succeeds or not, you guys will be able to drop by and visit and bring him up to date on things! I'm going to let Loewe-mun check in with his details, but I assume he will be contactable as well!

Velige definitely checked out of the hospital the day of-- and pretty much returned to work the following day, because sitting at home staring at the wall is Not Very Productive. He'll be careful not to hang around the other members too much, though, since he knows he still smells like smoke. He'll probably be helping to field Conan's paperwork until Conan's back, and he'll still be helping with the search for the Detective!

Does the department want a 'yay, our tiny boss is finally out of the hospital... again...' party...

I vote we make it a 'welcome back Detective Beckett' party. If we do ...

ICly, I was thinking that Crowley's bar (now owned by Castiel and Bobby), might be a good place to host it, but does anyone have any IC thoughts/preferences? I can also think of the Lux (though that might be a bit pricey), Strider's (too kiddy for everyone except Trucy and Conan) or the Tea Rooms (not enough booze!). But wherever we go, let's make it a PC business for the CR chances!

Also on the CR front, do we want it to be just the Forensics Unit/Contacts or can everyone bring a plus one/open to anyone whose character could feasibly wangle an invite?

Crowley's bar sounds good to me! Kate would like that too since she knows Castiel and Bobby. xD As for the CR front, I would be good with either, really. Though it might make more sense if they did the Forensics Unit/Contacts + 1. But like I said, I would be totally cool with it being open for anyone who could wrangle up an invite.

Day 108 | Day 109

Day 108. Detective Beckett is back! Conan is still in hospital but has been doing paperwork and stuff from bed. Hagen is closely monitoring who visits him from the department so that he doesn't overtire himself, but please feel free to say that your character managed to visit him!

Day 109. Arbor Day! Conan will have suggested that the Forensics Unit all take part in this as a community building project, and so anyone who wants to take part will not need leave to do so. Conan's going to be there, allowed out of the hospital for the day.

Other stuff!Larry Butz has been invited to drop by the department whenever he likes to visit Trucy and make friends in the wake of Edgeworth's departure.

Velige Loewe is being promoted from Intern to General Staff Member. He will probably still bring you your coffee if you ask nicely though. Or not -- we'll see.

Staff party is a thing although I hope no one minds waiting a couple of weeks for Bobby's mun to come back from hiatus? That said, if there are any hiatus or any other plot stuff coming up that we should know about, please let us know here! Also, Charles has a body-discovery post in the works so look out for that.

Forensics Party Update! Your feedback wanted.

Hey guys -- remember the Forensics Unit Party that we've been plotting? It's not been forgotten! Bobby-mun is back from hiatus and we can do the post if we still want to.

However, Charles is dropping and I know Conan won't feel very party-ish if we go ahead with it now. If it's not too much bother, could I get your opinions on whether or not we go ahead with the party now or wait for another good occasion? Please reply with YES or NO -- that simple!

Also: Conan's involved in planning a Traveller Festival designed to prove to the gods that Travellers don't need to be forced to acomplish great things. Chances are high that the Forensics Unit is going to be bossed into putting up a stall/activity for the event -- but what that is is so far undecided. Haunted House? Stall highlighting all the fun things the Forensics Unit gets up to?

Again, I'd really love your thoughts!

I vote no on the party, just because Charles leaving is probably going to be a damper on everything.

We can substitute the 'get together' aspect of the party with Conan making everyone run a booth or something at the Festival! c:

That's a good thought! And having something productive to do might be a good way to keep our characters busy and distracted -- and provide a welcome break from the murder case. I imagine they need something to counterbalance the grim.

Seconding the no. Trucy can fake it, but she wouldn't want everyone to be sad at a party.

I really like Kate!mun's idea, actually of forcing them to do something at the festival to get their attention away from it.
